We stock Kromanti because it's a family business telling a Caribbean story, and because plantain rum is something you won't find in a supermarket. Ripe plantain gives a soft, sweet fruitiness without being sugary. It's a real conversation starter, and a lovely gift for anyone who grew up eating fried plantain at Sunday dinner.
Tastes like: ripe plantain, banana bread, light grassy cane and gentle spice.
How to drink it:
- Neat or over ice, to taste the plantain
- With ginger ale: 50ml Kromanti Plantain over ice, topped with ginger ale and a slice of orange
- Rum punch: 50ml Kromanti Plantain, 100ml pineapple juice, 25ml lime juice, a dash of grenadine and a pinch of grated nutmeg, over plenty of ice

For the rum nerds
Kromanti was founded by father and daughter Cashain and Danielle David. The base is a blend of two- and three-year-old Venezuelan rums plus a sugar cane juice rum from the Dominican Republic. Ripe plantain is dehydrated and slowly infused into the blend.
