Patrón aged for over a year. Rich, oaky and a solid sipping tequila.

We stock Patrón Añejo for Patrón fans who want to sip. A year or more in oak brings vanilla, raisin and caramel, and it's a familiar name for gifting. Try it side by side with Patrón Reposado to taste what extra time in oak does.

Tastes like: vanilla, raisin, caramel and oak.

How to drink it:

  • Neat: pour 35ml of Patrón Añejo into a tumbler, let it sit for a minute, then add a drop of water if you like
  • Old Fashioned: 50ml Patrón Añejo, a teaspoon of sugar syrup and two dashes of Angostura bitters, stirred over ice with a twist of orange
  • With a single ice cube

For the agave nerds
  • Made by: Patrón, at a distillery in the Los Altos region of Jalisco that makes only Patrón.
  • Agave: 100% Blue Weber agave, grown for at least five years.
  • Cooking: Hand-chopped and baked in traditional clay brick ovens, alternating steaming and resting over 79 hours.
  • Extraction: Two methods side by side: a modern roller mill and a traditional tahona stone. Each juice is fermented separately.
  • Fermentation: Three days in small pine wood fermentation tanks.
  • Still: Distilled twice in small-batch copper pot stills.
  • Ageing: One to three years in oak barrels.

Why it tastes like this: The tahona gives an earthier, more cooked-agave juice and the roller mill a cleaner one. Patrón blends the two, which is why it's so smooth but still tastes of agave.
