A light, pale Hennessy made for Caribbean drinkers. Rare to find in the UK.

We stock Pure White because Caribbean customers know it and can't find it anywhere else. It's lighter and fresher than VS, so it's lovely over ice or with coconut water. It's a real find for anyone who's had it in the Caribbean and can't get it here.

Tastes like: fresh grape, white flowers, pear and a light, clean finish.

How to drink it:

  • Over ice, with a twist of lime
  • With coconut water: 50ml over ice, topped with coconut water
  • With lemonade: 50ml Pure White over ice, topped with lemonade and fresh fruit

If you like this, try: Hennessy VS Cognac, 70cl (Hennessy VS) · Cîroc VS Brandy, 75cl (another light French brandy)

For the cognac nerds
  • Made from: Ugni Blanc grapes from the Cognac region, which is divided into six crus.
  • Still: Double distilled in traditional Charentais copper stills. Only the heart of the second run is kept.
  • Selection: The Hennessy Tasting Committee meets every day at 11am to choose or reject eaux-de-vie.
  • People: Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the eighth generation of the Fillioux family to blend for Hennessy.
  • Ageing: A tight selection of eaux-de-vie, chosen for their clarity and only briefly aged in seasoned French oak, so there is little wood influence.
  • History: Created in 1998, inspired by the pale cognacs of the 19th century. Loved in the Caribbean for its lightness.

Why it tastes like this: Very little time in old oak keeps it pale, floral and fruity. That's why it mixes so well.
