A soft, sweet Japanese single grain whisky. Light, elegant and perfect in a highball.

We stock Chita because it shows how good grain whisky can be. Soft, honeyed and light, it's gorgeous neat or with soda. It's a lovely gift for someone who prefers lighter whiskies.

Tastes like: honey, crème brûlée, mint and a gentle, sweet finish.

How to drink it:

  • Highball: 50ml Chita over lots of ice, topped with cold soda water and a twist of lemon
  • Neat: pour 35ml of Chita into a tumbler, let it sit for a minute, then add a drop of water if you like
  • Over ice

For the whisky nerds
  • Made by: Suntory, at the Chita distillery on the shores of the Chita Peninsula, which has been making Japanese grain whisky for more than 40 years.
  • Official tasting notes: Bright gold. Nose: crème brûlée, cardamom, acacia honey, blossoming rose. Palate: mild and smooth, a hint of mint, deep honey. Finish: clean and clear, spiced oak with subtle bittersweet notes.
  • Label: Meets the Japan Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association standards for labelling Japanese whisky.
  • Bottling: 43% ABV.

Why it tastes like this: Grain whisky is lighter than malt whisky, so Chita is soft, honeyed and easy to drink neat or long.
