We stock Rémy VSOP because it's a top-quality VSOP from cognac's best growing areas, at a great price. Smooth enough to sip, lively enough to mix. It's a great everyday sipping cognac, and it's lovely in a Sidecar.
Tastes like: vanilla, ripe apricot, baked apple and liquorice.
How to drink it:
- On the rocks: 50ml Rémy VSOP over one large ice cube with a twist of orange peel
- With ginger ale: 50ml Rémy VSOP over ice, topped with ginger ale and a slice of orange
- Sidecar: 50ml Rémy VSOP, 20ml Cointreau and 20ml fresh lemon juice, shaken with ice and strained

For the cognac nerds
- Made by: Rémy Martin, Cognac. A Fine Champagne cognac, made only from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, the two crus at the heart of Cognac, on chalky soils.
- Still: Distilled on the lees, then selected blind.
- Ageing: In large-grain French oak barrels toasted to a "medium plus" level.
- History: First created in 1927.
Why it tastes like this: Distilling on the lees gives a richer, rounder spirit, and the two Champagne crus give it the finesse to age well.
