Smoky mezcal blended with tart hibiscus. A pink, fruity way into agave for people who think they hate smoke.
We stock Ojo de Dios Hibiscus because it sold out every time we had it. The hibiscus brings berry and sour notes that tame the smoke, so it's brilliant in a spritz or a pink margarita. Sorrel lovers, this one's for you. It's lower in strength than most mezcal, so it's easy to drink long, and the colour looks fantastic in a glass.
Tastes like: smoky agave first, then tart hibiscus, pomegranate and red berries.
How to drink it:
- Mezcal margarita: 50ml Ojo de Dios Hibiscus, 25ml fresh lime juice and 15ml agave syrup, shaken with ice, with a chilli-salt rim
- Spritz: 50ml Ojo de Dios Hibiscus, 75ml prosecco and a splash of soda over ice, with an orange slice
- Mezcal and tonic: 50ml over ice, topped with tonic and an orange slice
