We stock Courvoisier VSOP because it's one of the best-value VSOPs around. Smooth and slightly floral, good neat or in a long drink. It's a smart gift for a cognac drinker on a budget, and it makes a lovely Old Fashioned.
Tastes like: vanilla, toasted almond, peach and spring flowers.
How to drink it:
- On the rocks: 50ml Courvoisier VSOP over one large ice cube with a twist of orange peel
- With ginger ale: 50ml Courvoisier VSOP over ice, topped with ginger ale and a slice of orange
- Old Fashioned: 50ml Courvoisier VSOP, a teaspoon of sugar syrup and two dashes of Angostura bitters, stirred over ice with a twist of orange

For the cognac nerds
- Made by: Maison Courvoisier, Jarnac, Cognac.
- Crus: A blend of four crus: Borderies, Petite Champagne, Grande Champagne and Fins Bois.
- Ageing: Aged up to twelve years in the house's own barrels.
- People: Chief Blender Thibaut Hontanx, the house's seventh.
Why it tastes like this: Borderies brings the floral side and the Champagne crus bring depth. Longer in oak adds the vanilla and dried fruit.
